Free Test Sessions
Unlimited free 2-minute sessions so you can confirm everything works before you pay.
What you get
Every account can run unlimited free test sessions, up to 2 minutes each. They use the exact same real-time assistant paying users get — live transcription, AI answers, screenshots and stealth mode. The only difference is the 2-minute limit per session.
They exist so you never have to pay to find out whether Interview Sidekick works on your computer, with your audio setup and your meeting app. That's also why we don't offer refunds — see the refund policy.
How a test session works
- 1
Sign in and start a session
Set up a new session from your dashboard, exactly like you would for a real interview. - 2
Press Record — the 2-minute clock starts
The timer starts the first time you record in that session, and runs in the background. - 3
At 2 minutes, the session ends
Recording stops and you'll see an upgrade prompt. Nothing is charged. - 4
Start another one
Choose “Start another free 2-minute session” (or create a new session from your dashboard). There's no limit on how many you run.
Reloading doesn't reset the clock
The 2 minutes belong to the session, not the page. Refreshing or reopening the same session keeps the time already used — start a new session for a fresh 2 minutes. What to test, in this order
- 1
Audio and answers — with a YouTube mock interview
Start a session, press Record, then play a mock interview video. Within a few seconds the interviewer's questions should appear in the transcript; press Gen (or ⌘/Ctrl + Enter) and check the answer uses your resume. If nothing transcribes, see Can't hear the interviewer. - 2
Stealth — with a friend on a real call
Join a Zoom, Meet or Teams call with a friend (or a second device), turn on stealth with ⌘/Ctrl + Shift + S, share your screen, and ask them what they see. Have them read a question aloud so you test the full loop on your actual meeting app. - 3
Coding (if you have a coding round)
Open a problem on screen and press ⌘/Ctrl + Shift + A to capture it. See Coding rounds & screenshots.
Still stuck? Email ben@interviewsidekick.com with what you tried and a screenshot, and we'll help you get it working.
